Up until lockdown 1 I never really used YouTube much although even I got taken in by the Julien Faubert highlights reel when he signed for us.
Having the YouTube on the ipad whilst working from home has provided some respite from the boredom of working alone. For example I always watch the daily West Ham Chat video by Gonzo but one thing I have been fascinated with is the number of weird specialist channels which have tens of thousands of subscribers churning out videos with as many views. Here are a few that I cannot stop myself from selecting from my home screen.
Auditing Britain - A wind up merchant who initially attracts attention by loitering outside, videoing public buildings (mainly police stations) usually resulting in the arrival of the police officers who he proceeds to wind up and humiliate by exercising his right to not give them his details. I can kind of understand why the police get fucked off with him though.
Karens In the Wild - Compilations of self entitled (mainly women) who demand to speak to the manager. Many of the latest ones are facemask related.
CyclingMickey (thanks to Hallerin the morning for reminding me of this one on the Indicator thread) - A vigilante cyclist with a go pro camcorder who records motorists breaking the highway code mainly in the Hyde Park area. He often obstructs their path until they back down and reverse back to the point of breaking the code. Also records motorist driving whilst using phones. All of his videos are submitted to the authorities which he later checks the progress online. Claims to have resulted in tens of thousands in fines and hundreds of endorsement points.
Rate My Takeaway - A loveable fat yorkshireman who has accumulated a remarkable 200k+ subscribers over a couple of months who does exactly who the channel's title suggests. Carries a fold up table and chair that he sets up on the street to do his review.
Videos I don't get are all these "Unboxing" ones. Why would I want to see that? Using the actual product I get but I dont give a fuck about how it comes out of the sealed packaging. Also football match watchalongs....Euro96er, modern football is fucking shit bollocks,

Cycling Mickey has only gone and caught Chris Eubank who has been previously convicted of danger driving (killing a road worker in the process) using his phone whilst driving.

I watch quite a lot of the Harmless Farmer, bloke lost both his arms in an auger accident and now he does everything with his feet and his mouth, including driving a truck and tractors and just about anything on a farm that needs doing, he just does it, bloke is a fucking inspiration and on top of it all, he finds a way to film himself so that he can upload it to Youtube

He's a good lad, I prefer it when he's being amusing/sarcastic, but he gets his point across well. Did well in his court case too.

"The one - Belair" is well worth a watch (2 parts - about 20 mins each)
- it's a lovely little house!

Awkward Puppets - American politically incorrect sketches using puppets.Main character is a Mexican living in the US who plays up to all the stereotypes of Mexican Americans.

Not seen the reactistan videos, they’ve got different characters to tribal people try. Will give it a watch. It’s funny how the eating etiquette confuses some of them with certain foods on TPT.

Rick Beato & Produce Like A Pro (Warren Huart) - two very good music channels where they talk about all different aspects of music
Critical Drinker - film/tv channel where the critical drinker reviews old & new titles in a very humorous way
Ticket tv - yank basketball channel where the host ticket has a cast of regular callers talking basketball and other shit, often very funny and abusive :.)
Savage Robot - SR exposes various celebrities who've sold their soul to the goat, Lucy
The Mercurial Number Six - funniest music reaction channel on youtube, often doing full albums than just single tracks :.)
KEXP/Cardinal Sessions/Levitation - three great live music channels, featuring new artists

It's also called Reactistan. I really enjoy it, makes me chuckle. Some proper characters on it, including the tall, thin, old fella who thinks anything that tastes of something is bound to be bad for the health and everything was invented in his village, and the middle aged bloke in the leather jacket who is so enthusiastic and positive about everything.

Darien Long GRSE - footage of the day to life of a security guard at a metro mall in Atlanta. (Found this really addictive as it’s so hostile it’s always about to kick off - even women get tased in front of their little shithouse hobby kids)

One of my friends used to have a few pretty large youtube channels but has moved off the platform as he wasn't the most liked person by youtube, his main channels were Sargon of Akkad and the thinkery

I watch Auditing Britain and Rate my takeaway -I'm mainly fascinated by the fact that he hasn't had a heart attack yet.
